Aaron Paul has officially entered the race for Minnesota House District 54A, setting up a rematch in one of the state’s most competitive legislative districts.
Paul, a 30-year veteran of law enforcement, lost to DFL Rep. Brad Tabke by just 15 votes in the 2024 election. The contest drew statewide attention after 20 ballots from one precinct were mistakenly discarded. Paul challenged the results, but ultimately decided not to appeal after a court ruling in favor of Tabke’s election.
With his new campaign, Paul said he wants to shift the focus back to what he sees as key issues for Shakopee families: strong schools and quality education, affordable housing and childcare, continuing to support law enforcement and public safety, tackling fraud and abuse in our community, lower property taxes, and reducing the political divide by bringing people together.
“Families are looking for leaders who will put the focus back on public service, not the extremes,” Paul said.
