At the Jordan High School Softball Awards Night on May 16, the softball community came together to honor a woman whose dedication has helped shape the city’s softball landscape for more than two decades. Donna Breeggemann was presented with the inaugural “Diamond of Honor” award, jointly given by the Jordan High School Varsity Softball program and the Jordan Girls Fastpitch Association (JGFA).
Breeggemann has been a cornerstone of softball in Jordan, serving as a youth coach and as a prominent member of JGFA for six years. Her efforts have been instrumental in building and sustaining both the feeder and varsity programs. From recruiting sponsors and volunteers to launching new initiatives, her leadership has touched nearly every aspect of local softball.
Among her lasting contributions, Breeggemann helped establish the JGFA’s annual tournament. She and her family also led the High School program’s softener salt fundraiser for ten years—an effort that continues to support student-athletes today.
Her commitment extends beyond sports. Breeggemann has served on the Jordan Park Board for more than 20 years, helping to enhance the city’s park system and sports facilities. Her family played a key role in constructing the dugouts at Holzer Field, ensuring future generations would benefit from improved infrastructure.
