The 2024-25 Jordan Jaguar Girls Basketball team is off to a fast start playing five road games over the first week of the season. Last season, the Jags finished 20-9, losing to the eventual Class 2A State Champion, Providence Academy, in the Section Final. The Jags emerged from the opening week with a 3-2 record.
Jordan 44 Minneapolis North 40
On Thursday, November 21, the Jaguars kicked off the season with a 44-40 win over Minneapolis North. It was a physical battle from start to finish. Olivia Fynboh led the team with 13 points and Lydia Hagen had 12.
Crosby Ironton 62 Jordan 52
On Saturday, November 23, the Jaguars played Crosby-Ironton at the Breakdown Tip-Off Classic hosted by Southwest Christian High School. It was a game of two halves. After ice cold shooting in the first half, the Jags went into halftime down 25 points. Jordan mounted an impressive second half comeback by outscoring Crosby Ironton 30-15 but fell short to lose by 10.
This past week the Jaguars won on Tuesday and played two games in The Thanksgiving Tip-Off at White Bear Lake High School.
Jordan 77 Dassel-Cokato 46
The Jags dominated the Chargers the whole game. With many steals off their 1-3-1 press, Jordan cruised to an easy 77-46 win. Morgan Staloch led the Jags with 24 points, Savi Borowicz had 21 including 5 three pointers, and Olivia Fynboh chipped in 14.
Jordan 56 Stewartville 39
In game one of The Thanksgiving Tip-Off, the Jaguars put together the best game of the season against Stewartville. The Jags led 24-21 at the half. They extended their lead in the second half with great hustle and team play on offense and defense. Savi Borowicz scored 22 points to pace the Jags and Morgan Staloch contributed 15.
Iowa City West 49 Jordan 48
In the second game, Jordan lost a heartbreaker to Iowa City West. Savi Borowicz had 22 points, Jordan Staloch 10, and Olivia Fynboh 8.
Having started the season on the road, the Jags are anxious to play their next five games at home.
