It was a busy week for the Jordan Hubmen basketball team. On Tuesday, they lost 78-68 to No. 6 in Class 2A, Blake. On Thursday, the Hubmen dominated Holy Angels for a 30-point win, 82-52. Then on Friday, Jordan won a critical conference game against Holy Family, 66-59.
Blake 78, Jordan 68
On Tuesday, it was an exciting game against the Blake Bears, who are ranked No. 6 in Class 2A. The first half was a back-and-forth battle. Jordan led 14-9, and Blake rallied to tie the score at 14. The Hubmen’s pressure caused some Blake miscues, but Jordan was unable to convert the turnovers into points. The Bears took a 23-19 lead and extended it to 37-34 at the half.
The back-and-forth battle ensued in the second half, with three lead changes. Jordan came out quickly and tied the game at 45 with three-point baskets by Noah Robinson and Lexyn Grof. With the score tied at 52, Blake went on an 11-0 run to take a 63-52 lead with seven minutes remaining. Both teams exchanged points, but the Bears maintained their lead and won 78-68.
For Jordan, Lexyn Grof tallied 22 points. Noah Robinson scored 16, Mitchell Schmidt 13, and Brayden Davis 11.
Jordan 82, Holy Angels 52
On Thursday, the Hubmen traveled to Richfield to play Holy Angels, looking to snap a four-game losing streak. Jordan came out with defensive intensity and offensive execution, which led to a 16-3 start. The Hubmen played one of their best halves of the season, dominating on both offense and defense. Jordan’s offense was efficient, recording 12 assists on 16 made baskets. The Hubmen overwhelmed the Stars and led 38-14 at the half. Mitchell Schmidt had 11 of Jordan’s 38 points.
In the second half, the Hubmen picked up where they left off. Brayden Davis had consecutive steals and a thunderous dunk that had all Hubmen fans and players celebrating. Holy Angels made small runs, but the Hubmen held a 20-point lead for most of the second half. With the score 74-47, Coach Samuelson was able to substitute all the players into the game.
Statistically, Jordan shot 47% on offense and had a game-high 24 assists. The Hubmen also had 48 rebounds and 11 steals on defense.

Jordan 66, Holy Family 59
Jordan welcomed Holy Family to a Wright County Conference showdown on Friday night. The Fire came out hot, hitting consecutive three-pointers to take a quick 16-7 lead. After a Jordan timeout, the Hubmen went on a 13-0 run, capped by Brayden Davis scoring six points in a row. With Jordan leading 20-16, both teams exchanged baskets, and the game was tied at 23. Noah Robinson connected on a three-pointer to put the Hubmen ahead 28-25. Holy Family countered with a 7-0 run to retake the lead and go into halftime up 32-28.
The second half was a back-and-forth battle. Neither team led by more than four points. Several exciting defensive rebounds and steals led to quick transition baskets. Jordan was on top 52-51 with 6:45 left in the game. Brayden Davis was fouled on an aggressive drive to the basket. He scored and made the free throw to push the Hubmen's lead to 55-51. On the next play, Holy Family drilled a three-pointer to get within a point, 55-54. Jordan outscored the Fire 11-5 in the final five minutes of the game. In the final 36 seconds, Graham Helgerson made 1-of-2 free throws, and Lexyn Grof connected on 4-of-4 to secure the Hubmen win.
The Hubmen had balanced scoring, with four players in double figures:

Brayden Davis – 13 points
Mitchell Schmidt – 10 points
With the win, Jordan improves to 13-6 overall and 2-1 in the Wright County Conference.
