Jaguars Dominate Southwest Christian, Fall Short in High-Scoring Battle Against Mahtomedi

Jordan 70, Southwest Christian 34
On Friday night, the Jaguars controlled the Southwest Christian Stars from the tipoff. Jordan's pressure defense forced the Stars into multiple shot clock violations and turnovers. The Jaguars led 24-12 and 31-14. Olivia Robinson hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give Jordan a 36-18 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Southwest Christian cut the deficit to 12 points, but the Jaguars were too much to handle. Jordan’s largest lead was 64-29 with 6:47 remaining. The Jaguars went on to win 70-34.
Morgan Staloch led all scorers with 32 points, while Savi Borowicz added 20.
Mahtomedi 96, Jordan 84
Saturday afternoon’s game turned into a shootout. Both teams played excellent team offense, scoring in bunches. Mahtomedi held a slim 47-46 lead at halftime.
The second half followed a similar pattern, but the Zephyrs' depth proved to be the difference as they pulled away to defeat Jordan 96-84.
Savi Borowicz led the Jaguars with 30 points. Morgan Staloch contributed 25, and Olivia Fynboh added 11.
On Tuesday night (1/28), the Jaguars hosts Providence Academy, the top ranked team in class 2A.
