The Jordan Jaguars came ready to play Saturday night. The Jaguars were the better team and led the whole game. With the win, No. 3 Jordan will play No. 2 Minneapolis North at 6:00 PM on March 4 at Minnehaha Academy. Back in November, the Jaguars defeated Minneapolis North 44-40.
Jordan 74, Watertown-Mayer 55
Off the tip, Savi Borowicz swished a three-pointer. The Jaguars were lights out, making six of 14 baskets from behind the three-point arc. Borowicz connected on four three-pointers, while Tessa Cook made two. Jordan took a 3-0 lead and never relinquished it. The Jaguars fought off Watertown-Mayer’s runs to take a 36-25 lead into halftime. Borowicz led Jordan with 12 points, and Olivia Fynboh chipped in 11.
The second half was much the same. Great team defense and efficient offense fueled a 21-7 run midway through the half, extending Jordan’s lead to 63-40—the largest of the game. Coach Johnson was able to get all his players into the game as Jordan cruised to a 74-55 victory over the Royals.
Offensively, the Jaguars shot 38% and recorded 19 assists. Defensively, they outrebounded the Royals 52-35 and forced 14 turnovers.
