At the Litchfield Invitational on October 3rd, the Jordan Cross Country team ran into a perfect scenario as they ran on a flat, fast course with an ideal temperature in the low 60’s with a light breeze. As a result, there were several personal records and all-time top 25 performances posted at the meet. The meet consisted of 22 teams including several ranked teams .
In the boys varsity race, two of the seven fastest times in school history were run. Logan Bohlsen ran the 4th fastest time in Hubmen history as he finished in 22nd place with a 16:40. Wilson Menden placed 33rd with a 16:57. Domenek Williams tied Nick Weedman (’22) for the 15th fastest time all-time and freshman Owen Dahnert ran a personal record of 17:51 with a 59th place finish. Finn Lanheim and Cullen Hyer finished in 79th and 107th respectively. Junior Charles Huesers placed 113th with a personal record of 20:11. The boys team finished in 10th place out of 22 competing teams.
In the girls varsity race, Bianca Peterson narrowly missed a personal record as she finished in 17th place with a 20:16. Olivia Fynboh ran the 9th fastest time in Jordan history with a personal record of 20:51 with a 28th place finish. Allie Althoff moved up to 11th all-time with a 20:53 and 29th place finish. Samantha Tieben ran the 21st fastest 5k in Jordan history with a 22:11. Torah Barrett ran her 2nd fastest time while Danika Barlage also added a season-best performance. The girls placed 8th place out of 22 competing teams.
The boys middle school team had a strong meet as they finished in 2nd place. Bennett Bohlsen (5th), Cullen Winters (7th), Bryce Stilen (15), Colton Glynn (20), Jackson Waller (24), Breckston Kaderlick (26), and Sawyer Judge (42) all ran personal record times.
All of the middle school girls ran personal records as well as the team placed 3rd overall. Minka Hage (4th), Alyvia Nylander (9th), Louella McCoy (18th), Leah Lucas (35), and Saoirse Serbus (38) were all in the top 5. Cami Smith (43rd), Claira Gens (60th), Emma Hoeben (65th), and Lochy Barrett (68th) all improved by upwards of two full minutes.
The Hubmen and Jaguars will compete again on Tuesday, October 8th at the Jordan Invitational.
