The Jordan Police Department is inviting residents to come together for Night to Unite on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. The annual event aims to strengthen community bonds, build trust with law enforcement, and promote neighborhood safety.
Night to Unite is designed to heighten awareness around crime and drug prevention, encourage participation in anti-crime initiatives, and show criminals that neighborhoods are organized and proactive.
Block parties will take place across Jordan between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. Registered gatherings will receive visits from the Jordan Police and Fire Departments, Ridgeview Ambulance Services, and other public safety groups. Parties are typically organized as potlucks or informal cookouts, led by local block captains.
To host a block party, residents must register by Friday, August 1. Registration is required for visits from public safety officials. To sign up, email Community Service Officer Sophia Mundy at smundy@jordanmn.gov or call the police department at 952-492-2009 during regular business hours.
In addition to fostering community connections, this year’s event will support Southern Valley Alliance, a local domestic abuse advocacy organization. Participants are encouraged to donate items such as shampoo, gift cards, cleaning supplies, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Residents are also asked to turn on their outdoor lights during the event to help show support and solidarity.
