Jordan Public Schools will celebrate three standout alumni this fall with their induction into the district’s Hall of Fame. The ceremony is set for Friday, Sept. 19, at 5 p.m. in the Jordan High School auditorium.
This year’s inductees have left a lasting mark on Jordan athletics and continue to influence their communities:
John McFarland – Class of 1984
A multi-sport athlete who excelled in football, basketball, and baseball, McFarland helped lead the 1983 football team to a state championship and earned All Conference honors in all three sports.Leah (Dietel) Aamlid – Class of 2009
A five-year varsity starter in both volleyball and basketball and a six-year letter winner in track and field, Aamlid helped secure multiple state tournament appearances and held several school records. She was also JHS Valedictorian and now teaches at Jordan Elementary School.TJ Oakes – Class of 2009
A four-year varsity starter in basketball and baseball, Oakes went on to play baseball at the University of Minnesota before being drafted by both the Minnesota Twins and Colorado Rockies. He now serves as head baseball coach at the University of Wisconsin Superior.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony. Later that evening, the inductees will be recognized during halftime of the Homecoming football game at Ames Field.
