Jordan will be well represented at the State Track & Field Championship this year as they will have athletes competing in 8 different events at St. Michael-Albertville High School.
The 4x100m relay team of Molly Church, Loyalty Malone, Kierra Walkington, and Morgan Mengel set a new school record of 50.08 and also hit the automatic qualifying mark to punch their ticket to state. This is the first girls’ relay in school history to qualify for state!
The girls 4x400m relay team of Kierra Walkington, Maya Hage, Olivia Fynboh, and Tessa Cook also re-broke their own school record in the 4x400m relay with a performance of 4:12.45.
Noah Salzwedel qualified in the Triple Jump as he placed 2nd with a jump of 42-10. He has jumped the 2nd-best triple jump in school history earlier in the season.
Brayden Davis qualified in the high jump as he tied for 6th with a jump of 6-1. This is the 8th best high jump in Jordan history.
Mason Adamek qualified in the long jump by placing 3rd with a jump of 21-00.5. This is the 7th best long jump in Jordan history.
Owen Halvorson qualified individually in the 300m hurdles as he placed 2nd with a time of 39.22, and he was the lone Section 2AA champion as he won the 200m dash with a time 0f 22.14. His time in the 200m is the 3rd fastest in school history (behind Cameron Boy and Marlon Wiley, and in front of 1985 state champion Ken Rothenberger).
The boys 4x200m relay team Ian Major, Noah Salzwedel, Lincoln Malek, and Owen Halvorson placed 4th in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:30. 72. This is the 2nd fastest time in school history, behind only the 2019 State Championship Team of Jerry Powell, Thomas Dietel, Bryce Sievers, and Caden Bruzek, who ran 1:29.25.
The boys 4x400m relay team of Abel Krause, Noah Salzwedel, Landon Pedersen, and Cullen Hyer qualified with a 3:28.39 and a 5th place finish in the 4x400m relay. This is the 3rd fastest 4x400m relay in Jordan history behind only an All-State team in 2019 and the Class AA State Record holding 2022 team of Owen Montrieul, Will Major, Isaac Young, and Kaleb Sharp.
