Marlene Fay (Anderson) Daniels, age 92, a resident of the Shakopee, Minnesota area has passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Oak Terrace in Jordan, Minnesota.
A Christian Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Marlene on Saturday, April 19, 2025, hosted at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral and Cremation, 1220 3rd Ave E – Shakopee, beginning at 2:00 PM with a time of gathering beginning at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow the service. An intimate family interment will take place a Fort Snelling National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
Marlene was born on October 9, 1932, in Duluth, Minnesota the daughter of Julius and Esther (Johnson) Anderson. She was raised in Duluth, attending the high school class of the ‘49ers (1949.)
She was united in marriage on June 30, 1951, to Ervin Daniels. They began their family in Duluth. They were quite nomadic for 14 years living in various states and homes, until settling in Scott County, the Shakopee, area for the past 55 plus years.
Mom was a long-time employee of the Bloomington Radisson South Hotel for many years from which she retired. She enjoyed family most of all; her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Some of her hobbies were playing Scrabble, word puzzles, playing bingo with friends, she crocheted and knit, and was an incredibly meticulous housekeeper. Mom you are so loved and will be sorely missed by us all.
Marlene is survived by her children, LaVerne (Anna) Daniels, Leon (Mary) Daniels, Carolyn Kechley, Jerry (Sandy) Daniels, Gilbert (Dana) Daniels; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin who passed in 1996; her son, Ken Daniels who passed in 2004; parents, Julius and Esther Anderson. Marlene was the last sole survivor of her siblings, her husband's siblings and all their spouses.
