The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) held a ribbon cutting this past Thursday at the Marschall Road Transit Station for the expansion of its MVTA Connect microtransit service to include Prior Lake and Shakopee.
MVTA Connect is a flexible, on-demand transit option designed to provide point-to-point travel for residents within the designated Prior Lake/Shakopee zone. The service is accessible via an app, allowing riders to schedule trips within the zone or connect with MVTA’s fixed-route bus services across the metro area.
Connection points for the service include the Marschall Road Transit Station, as well destinations like Downtown Shakopee, Downtown Prior Lake, Canterbury Park, Mystic Lake Casino, St. Francis Hospital, Town Square Mall, and the Southbridge Crossings Park & Ride.
Operating hours for the Prior Lake/Shakopee zone are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Riders can book trips through the RideMVTA app up to three hours in advance. The fare is $3 per ride, payable via the app using a credit or debit card, with a Go-To Card, or with exact cash upon boarding. Children aged 5 and under can ride for free.
