With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we celebrate the beautiful life of Richard "Dick" McKenna, who passed peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on the morning of February 13, 2025. Born to John "Harold" and Loretta McKenna in Shakopee, MN, on May 27, 1937. Richard married Delores Wacker on October 18, 1958, celebrating 66 years together. Richard's life was a testament to love, laughter, and a devotion to family.
At the age of 17, Richard enlisted in United States Army, serving two years in France. For over three decades he worked at Anchor Glass. Richard had a gift of quick wit and storytelling. He was a lover of John Deere, John Wayne, and Johnny Cash. Richard will always be remembered for the immense love he shared with his wife, who was always by his side.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife Delores, and leaves behind a family who adored him: his siblings Sister Mary Louise McKenna and David McKenna; his children Dana (Michael Beutz) McKenna, Kevin (Ana Maria) McKenna, Michael (Tamy) McKenna, Kelly (Rick) McKenna-Coleman; his grandchildren Josh (Jessica) Hein, Tammy Jo (David) Johnson, Jonathan (Martha) McKenna, Jeffrey (Michelle) McKenna, Mikayla (Reece) Turner, Nicole (Alex) Vidakovic, Nathan (Cassy) Coleman, Austin (Carolyn) McKenna, Zackery Coleman, and Trentyn Coleman; and his precious great-grandchildren Ava Hein, Ben, Aria, and Mya Johnson, Clark McKenna, Oliver and Emilia McKenna, Rhett, McKenna, and Ryatt Turner, Novak and Sylvia Vidakovic, and Annabeth Coleman, along with countless relatives and friends who were blessed with his presence. Preceded in death by siblings Carol McDonald and Harold "Skip" McKenna; and grandchild Kristina McKenna.
