Shakopee residents are invited to step outside, connect with neighbors, and strengthen community ties during the city’s annual Night to Unite, happening Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
The evening encourages neighborhoods to turn on their lights, lock their doors, and spend time together outdoors. Many neighborhoods across Shakopee will host block parties, cookouts, and games, with special visits from local police, fire, and public works staff.
Night to Unite is designed to promote neighborhood camaraderie and support crime prevention efforts by reinforcing the bond between residents and public safety officials. Whether it’s a small gathering or a big block bash, the goal is to build lasting relationships and show unity against crime.
Registration for block parties is open through July 20 at 11:59 p.m. Block Party Captain Kits will be available for pickup beginning July 22 at the Shakopee Police Department, 475 Gorman St., between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
