Valleyfair Tricks & Treats
Dates: Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 28 – Oct. 27 Hours: 11 AM - 6 PM
Valleyfair’s Tricks & Treats returns with daytime family fun, offering a little something for everyone. Kids and parents alike can enjoy Halloween-themed activities, live shows, a costume contest, seasonal food, and plenty of candy. For those who can’t resist the thrill of the rides, Valleyfair will have many of its attractions open. This fang-tastic event promises not to disappoint!
ValleyScare
Dates: Oct. 5-6, Oct. 11-12, Oct. 18-19, Oct. 25-26 Hours: 7 PM - 12:00 AM
As the sun sets, Valleyfair transforms into ValleyScare, the Twin Cities' largest and most terrifying Halloween event. The thrills intensify with haunted mazes, scare zones, and nighttime rides designed to test the bravest souls. This event is not for the faint of heart and is recommended for mature audiences. Parental discretion is advised. ValleyScare is a separately ticketed event, so be sure to get your tickets early!
Shak-O-Lantern Festival
Date: Oct. 5, Hours: 1-4 PM
Location: Downtown Shakopee (Lewis Street & Lewis Street Lot)
Downtown Shakopee will be buzzing with excitement at the Shak-O-Lantern Festival, a family-friendly event hosted by the Shakopee Chamber & Visitors Bureau. Dress in your best costume and join the community for trunk-or-treating, fall-themed shopping, food vendors, and a variety of family activities. This is the perfect way to welcome the Halloween season.
2024 Phantom’s Feast
Date: Oct. 17-20, 23-27, 30-31, Nov. 1
Location: Renaissance Festival Grounds
For a unique twist on Halloween, attend Phantom’s Feast at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Hosted by Jim Cunningham, this evening includes dinner, ghost stories, and a ghost hunt. The event is for ages 17+ and features a cash bar, entertainment, and the infamous Phantom’s Feast. Tickets include a meal, beverages during dinner, and a commemorative Phantom’s mug.
Spooky Family Fun
Date: Oct. 26 Hours: 4-7 PM
Location: Huber Park
Get ready for an evening of fall-themed fun at Huber Park! Spooky Family Fun offers games, pumpkin painting, carriage rides, trick-or-treating, and more. No registration is required, and the event is free. This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your family while celebrating the spirit of the season.
Spooky Swim
Date: Oct. 29 Hours: 5-8 PM
Location: Shakopee Community Center
Take a dip into the Halloween spirit with the Spooky Swim at the Shakopee Community Center. Attendees can enjoy swim time along with photo ops featuring Halloween characters and some deliciously ghoulish snacks. This event is open to all ages, with a $10 fee per child. Adults swim for free. Trick-or-Treat at City Hall
Date: Oct. 31 Hours: 3-4:30 PM
Before you head out for an evening of trick-or-treating, stop by Shakopee City Hall. Kids can show off their costumes and collect treats in a safe environment. No registration is required for this free event, and it's a perfect way to kickstart your Halloween night. Shakopee City Hall is located at 485 Gorman St.
Trunk or Treat at Friendship Church
Date: Oct. 31 Hours: 4:30-6:30PM
Take a trick-or-treating detour to Friendship Church’s Trunk-or-Treat. Explore some creatively decorated trunks, collect candy, and enjoy interactive activities for all ages. Whether you’re in costume or just coming to enjoy the FREE family festivities, there’s something for everyone. The trunks will be open from 4:30 to 6:30 PM—don’t miss out on the fun!
