Terrance Anthony Welsh
March 3, 1941 - February 27, 2025
Terrance A. Welsh, age 83, of Shakopee, MN, entered eternal life on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
Terry was born on March 3, 1941, in Minneapolis, the son of Arthur and Eleanor (Atzersdorfer) Welsh. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School. He was a great basketball player in high school and college. His passion for basketball continued throughout his life.
Terry married Irene Schimek on June 10, 1967, in Faribault, Minnesota. He was an English teacher and coached track and baseball at Hill-Murray School and continued coaching track at Woodbury High School.
Terry was an avid gardener, it was his pride and joy. He spent hours in the garden each day. He played cards, fished, golfed, collected sports cards, and was a practicing Catholic.
Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; infant daughter, Maria; brother, Arthur; and sister, Mary Ellen Leaper. Survivors include his daughter, Patricia (Mike) Samberg; sons, Robert and Marc (Katie); grandchildren, Dylan (Destiny) Samberg, Amber and Ashley Welsh, and Zoey Welsh; great-granddaughter, Scarlett; brothers, Jack (Mary Jo) and Dennis (Nancy).
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Church of St. Mark, 350 Atwood St. South, Shakopee: Visitation from 3-4 PM, followed by Mass at 4 PM. Interment Wednesday, 9:30 AM at Catholic Cemetery, Shakopee.
